I grew up in Kenya and Tanzania, East Africa, where I was surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, stunning wildlife, and gorgeous people. I took up photography at 15 in an attempt to capture the beauty that surrounded me. Since then, life’s journey has taken me around the world; and everywhere I go, I can’t help but see beauty: Kenya’s Mombasa coastline, Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro and Serengeti National Parks, California’s High Sierra, Alaska’s Kodiak Island, and more.

Beauty is not just in the exotic, however; it is also in the familiar. And so my photography has developed into a desire not only to travel and see the far off beauties of the world, but also to unveil the beauty lost in the clutter of the mundane. If I can learn to capture that beauty in its most clutter-free form, beauty will speak for itself.

I owe a lot to photography. It has given me new eyes to see the world around me; it has taught me, and is teaching me, how to look for beauty. My hope is that through my photography, you too will learn to see the world around you with new eyes. Beauty is everywhere.
